Guide to a Clean House While Working

Working with Kids can be very difficult at times. There are not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything that needs to be done. It can be infuriating at times. Enough that I want to pull my hair out!

The one task that seems impossible to keep up with is cleaning. If I get a little bit of time to clean, it seems like it is destroyed by the next day. After a lot of practice, I have found that these tips help keep the house a lot cleaner! This helps with my sanity.

Flash Clean – A flash clean is where you take anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes and you clean like a madwoman. Most of the time I don’t feel like doing anything but hanging out with the family after work. But if I know I’m only going to be cleaning for 10 minutes I am more likely to do it.

I take this time and I clean as much as I can in this little bit of time. Sometimes I surprise myself with how much I get done. Now, when you flash clean don’t expect everything to look perfect. This is to help with maintenance. This little step goes a long way.

Clean as you go – This little gem I still struggle with but it works wonders. Let me give you an example. If I am making smothered chicken tonight I know that I will need a skillet to fry it in and a baking dish to finish in the oven. I will also need measuring tools and bowls.

As I prep the meal and get it in the frying pan, I notice that the chicken needs about 5 minutes each side. So that gives me 10 minutes to clean all the dishes that I have already used while keeping an eye on the food.

When it’s done and I finish it off in the oven I have some additional time to clean. So if I clean as I go, by the end of the night most of the dishes are already done! Score 1 for mom!

Everyone cleans up after themselves – This is a tough one if you have very little ones. If everyone does a little bit every day, you will not be faced with this huge task of cleaning on the weekend.

Since my kids are young, I try to get them involved as much as I can. Every night know that they have to clean up all of her toys. If they make a mess, they are involved in the cleanup. I know they can do much now, but I am laying the ground work know so they know they has to help clean.

Schedule cleaning- This tip I live by! If I did not the house would be a pig sty! Now that there are four people in our family I have to schedule days for laundry. I use to just do it on Sundays. But I have found that by Sunday we have a pile the size of Mount Everest!

As a result, I now schedule laundry for Wednesday and Sunday. It really helps with the amount I have to do those days. I also schedule bathroom and kitchen cleanings as well. Everything looks a lot better as a result.

I hope you find these tips helpful. Just try them for a week and I guarantee you will see a difference! Tell me what you do to keep your house clean. Have a great week mommas!
